Kolkata Knight Riders have signed left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya as a replacement for Umran Malik ahead of IPL 2025. Malik, who joined KKR for ₹75 lakh, has been ruled out due to an undisclosed injury.
“Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) picked Chetan Sakariya as a replacement for Umran Malik for the upcoming edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Umran Malik is ruled out of the season due to an injury,” BCCI‘s official statement read.
Sakariya, 27, was part of KKR’s title-winning squad last season but did not play any matches. He went unsold in the mega auction before securing this opportunity at the same price of ₹75 lakh.
