Mumbai Indians to Bounce Back in IPL 2025? Michael Vaughan Predicts Their Win

Michael Vaughan predicted that Mumbai Indians will win IPL 2025, while Shubman Gill will finish as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has shared his top three predictions for IPL 2025. He expects Mumbai Indians to win their sixth title, despite their disappointing last-place finish in 2024. Hardik Pandya, who takes over as captain again, will aim to turn things around for the five-time champions. MI previously lifted the trophy in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Vaughan then predicted Shubman Gill will finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Gill, captain of Gujarat Titans, had an underwhelming debut season as skipper in 2024. He has scored 3216 runs in 103 IPL matches at an average of 37.84, including 4 centuries and 20 half-centuries.

For the highest wicket-taker, Vaughan backed Varun Chakravarthy of Kolkata Knight Riders. The spinner was crucial in KKR’s 2024 title win and impressed in the Champions Trophy 2025, taking 9 wickets in 3 matches. He has 83 wickets in 71 IPL games.

“My IPL predictions … @mipaltan to win @ShubmanGill top scorer Varun Chakravarthy most wickets,” Vaughan wrote on X.

The IPL 2025 tournament opener on March 22 will feature KKR facing RCB at Eden Gardens.
