Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 13th match of IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Chasing a target of 172, PBKS comfortably reached 177/2 in just 16.2 overs, thanks to stellar performances from Prabhsimran Singh, Shreyas Iyer, and Nehal Wadhera.
Opting to bat first, LSG posted 171/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a promising middle-order stand, their innings never gained full momentum. Nicholas Pooran top-scored with a 30-ball 44, hitting five boundaries and two sixes. Ayush Badoni also contributed with a steady 41 off 33 balls, while Abdul Samad added a quickfire 27 off 12 deliveries.
However, LSG’s top-order faltered against PBKS’ disciplined bowling attack. Mitchell Marsh departed for a duck, while skipper Rishabh Pant managed only 2 runs. David Miller’s 19 off 18 balls did little to accelerate the innings. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the PBKS bowlers, claiming 3/43 in his four-over spell. Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell, and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each, restricting LSG to a below-par total.

In response, PBKS got off to a brisk start despite losing Priyansh Arya (8 off 9) early. The in-form Prabhsimran Singh took charge, smashing 69 off just 34 deliveries, laced with nine fours and three sixes. His explosive knock set the tone for PBKS’ chase.
Captain Shreyas Iyer then anchored the innings with an unbeaten 52 off 30 balls, finding the fence thrice and clearing it four times. He was well supported by Nehal Wadhera, who played an aggressive cameo of 43* off 25 balls. The duo stitched an unbeaten 67-run partnership to seal the win for PBKS with 22 balls to spare.
LSG’s bowling attack struggled to contain PBKS’ batters, failing to create pressure with early wickets. Digvesh Rathi (2/30) was the only bowler to make an impact, dismissing both Arya and Prabhsimran. However, the rest of the bowling unit, including Shardul Thakur (0/39), Ravi Bishnoi (0/43), and Avesh Khan (0/30), proved ineffective as PBKS comfortably chased down the target.
