Rishabh Pant and Digvesh Singh Rathi of LSG were fined for breaching IPL Code Of Conduct during Mumbai Indians clash in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during Match 16 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Mumbai Indians. The match took place on Friday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
As it was LSG’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate violations, Pant has been fined INR 12 lakh.
Meanwhile, LSG bowler Digvesh Singh has also been fined 50 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the same game. “This was his second Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season and hence, he has accumulated Two Demerit Points, in addition to One Demerit Point which he accumulated during LSG’s match against Punjab Kings on April 01, 2025,” the IPL issued in a statement.

For those unaware, the match between LSG and MI exceeded the stipulated time duration. During the match, it was also noticed that LSG bowlers were taking more than 60 seconds in between overs which caused the delay in the game. As of Digvesh, he celebrated with the Notebook gesture even after being warned of his first match. The gesture was counted in as offending and BCCI decided to impose a fine on him again. As per IPL guidelines, for Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, “the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”
