Kolkata Knight Riders Regain Form with 14-Run Win Over Delhi Capitals

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs to break their losing streak and stay in the playoff race.

Kolkata Knight Riders revived their playoff ambitions with a 14-run win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Batting first, KKR posted 204/9, bolstered by Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 44 off 32 balls. Despite a strong 76-run partnership between Faf du Plessis (50) and Axar Patel (43), Delhi’s chase faltered.

Sunil Narine’s pivotal three-wicket spell dismantled the middle order, while Varun Chakaravarthy’s consecutive strikes sealed the win. Vipraj Nigam’s late 38 off 19 balls narrowed the margin but couldn’t prevent Delhi’s second consecutive loss. This win lifts KKR to seventh place, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders made a strong start with aggressive batting. However, their momentum dipped after quick wickets during the middle overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi held the innings together with a composed knock, while Rinku Singh added useful runs. Despite the solid platform, KKR couldn’t fully capitalize on the end. Delhi Capitals fought back with timely breakthroughs as Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam removed key middle-order batters. Mitchell Starc finished the innings in style, claiming three wickets in the final over. KKR managed to post 204, but their late-innings slowdown kept Delhi in the contest heading into the chase.
