Avesh Khan Set to Rejoin LSG After Two-Month Injury Layoff | Reports

Avesh Khan, who has been out for two months due to a right knee injury and last played in January’s Ranji Trophy, has reportedly received BCCI clearance to join Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2025.

Lucknow Super Giants have received a major boost as pacer Avesh Khan has been cleared to rejoin the squad after a two-month injury layoff. Avesh, who last played in January’s Ranji Trophy, has been recovering from a right knee issue caused by his workload during the domestic season. His last appearance for India came four months ago in a T20I against South Africa.

According to reports from Cricbuzz, he underwent rehabilitation at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and completed a key fitness test on Monday. While the exact date of his return to the squad remains uncertain, he is expected to be available for Lucknow’s next match on March 27 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, in the tournament, Lucknow Super Giants suffered their first defeat of IPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on Monday. The team is struggling with injuries to all key Indian pacers. Mayank Yadav, recovering from a lumbar stress injury, has now sustained a toe injury. Akash Deep, Bengal’s pacer, remains unfit after a back injury from the Australia tour. Assistant coach Lance Klusener admitted that the team must rotate players until reinforcements return.

If Avesh Khan is available, Lucknow may replace Prince Yadav. The left-arm pacer conceded 47 runs in four overs, including 16 in the penultimate over.
