Corbin Bosch Reveals Why He Chose IPL Over PSL | Reports

Corbin Bosch

Corbin Bosch defended his decision to leave PSL for Mumbai Indians, stating it was a career move and not meant to disrespect the league.

South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch withdrew from the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) after securing a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Mumbai Indians. His decision led to a notice from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for breaching his PSL contract.

Peshawar Zalmi had signed Bosch for PSL 10, set to begin on April 11. However, he opted out after Mumbai Indians offered him a place as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams. The IPL 2025 season runs from March 22 to May 25.

According to a Cricket Pakistan report, Bosch has clarified his stance to PCB officials, stating that the move was purely a career decision. He noted Mumbai Indians’ strong presence in the IPL and multiple global leagues, which could increase his future opportunities.

“Bosch provided his explanation to Pakistani officials, stating that his decision was not meant to disrespect PSL. He said he had to prioritize his future, as Mumbai Indians are not only a strong IPL team but also have franchises in multiple other leagues, which could benefit his career significantly,” the report read.

Meanwhile, Corbin Bosch may face a ban from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after breaching his contract. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly reviewing his explanation before deciding on further action. The board could follow the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) example, which recently banned England’s Harry Brook for two years after he withdrew at the last minute from IPL 2025. The PCB is expected to announce its decision soon.
