Rajasthan Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out of the rest of IPL 2025 after fracturing his finger. The injury occurred during RR’s last match, but the seamer continued to bowl through the pain. Sharma played all 10 games this season, picking up 9 wickets with best figures of 2 for 21.

The Royals have confirmed they are actively searching for a replacement and will make an official announcement soon. His absence is a blow to RR’s bowling unit as the team enters the crucial phase.

“Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a fracture in his finger. He showed immense bravery to continue bowling with this injury in the last match and everyone at the franchise wishes him a full and speedy recovery,” Rajasthan Royals wrote in a statement.

“The team management is actively working on finalising his replacement, post which an official announcement will be made,” the franchise added.

Rajasthan Royals stand-in skipper Riyan Parag confirmed Sandeep Sharma’s absence due to a fractured finger ahead of their match against Mumbai Indians. Wanindu Hasaranga also missed out with a minor niggle. RR made two changes, bringing in Kumar Kartikeya and Madhwal.

In their 11th game of the season, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, aiming to keep their playoff hopes alive.
