The ICC revealed March 2025 Player of the Month nominees featuring top performers from the Champions Trophy and a T20I pace sensation.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, highlighting standout performers from the Champions Trophy 2025 and a fast bowler who has reached new heights in the T20 format.

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer played a vital role in India’s middle order during their successful Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. The right-hander scored 172 runs in three ODIs in March at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47, finishing as India’s top scorer in the tournament.

Iyer’s crucial innings included a solid 79 against New Zealand in the group stage, a composed 45 versus Australia in the semi-final, and a steady 48 in the final against New Zealand that guided India to the title. His ability to stabilise the innings and build partnerships proved instrumental in India’s unbeaten run throughout the tournament.

New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy enjoyed a phenomenal run in March, particularly during the five-match T20I series at home against Pakistan. Duffy emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the series, claiming 13 wickets at an outstanding average of 8.38 and an economy rate of 6.17, helping the Black Caps seal a 4-1 series win.

His spell of 4/14 in the opening game at Christchurch set the tone for the series. He followed it up with another four-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 4/20 in the fourth match at Mount Maunganui, consistently troubling Pakistan’s batters.

The 30-year-old pacer’s remarkable form saw him climb to the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings. In addition to his T20I brilliance, Duffy also struck twice in the first ODI against Pakistan at the end of the month, wrapping up March with 15 wickets from just six matches.

Rachin Ravindra made a strong impact as a dependable all-rounder during New Zealand’s run to the Champions Trophy 2025 final. In three ODIs during March, Ravindra scored 151 runs at an average of 50.33 with an impressive strike rate of 106.33. He also picked up three wickets while maintaining a tight economy of 4.66.

His most notable contribution came in the semi-final against South Africa, where he smashed a brilliant 108, his second century of the tournament. Ravindra shared a vital 164-run stand with Kane Williamson, helping the Kiwis post the highest-ever total in Champions Trophy history. With the ball, Ravindra added value by delivering economical spells and picking up a wicket in each of the three ODIs.
