Delhi Capitals Cruise to a Comfortable 8-Wicket Win Over Lucknow Super Giants

Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets, with KL Rahul and Mukesh Kumar playing key roles in the win.

Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets in a dominant all-round display in Lucknow. Axar Patel chose to bowl first, and DC’s bowlers responded with a disciplined performance. Mukesh Kumar led the attack, keeping LSG in check during key phases.

Chasing a modest target of 160, Abishek Porel gave DC a flying start, scoring his maiden half-century of the season. KL Rahul anchored the chase with a composed knock, also reaching the 5000-run milestone in the IPL. Axar Patel’s late cameo ensured there were no hiccups.

Despite Aiden Markram taking two wickets, LSG failed to control the innings. Ravi Bishnoi and Thakur struggled with the ball, while Avesh Khan and Digvesh Singh showed some promise.

Earlier, LSG started well, scoring 87 runs in the first 10 overs. Markram crossed 50 before triggering a collapse. Mitchell Starc and Mukesh Kumar dismantled the top order with quick wickets. Ayush Badoni tried to stabilise the innings, but Delhi’s bowlers kept things tight. LSG were restricted to a below-par total of 159, and Delhi chased it down comfortably, completing a one-sided win at Lucknow.

With this win, DC completed a season double over LSG and picked up their sixth win, joining Gujarat Titans at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants suffered their second loss in three matches, hurting their playoff hopes in IPL 2025. With just 10 points from 9 matches, LSG now face an uphill task as other contenders have played only 8.

After the “Kantara” celebration the other night at his home ground, it was a very mature call from KL Rahul tonight to not celebrate after his match winning knock.
No theatrics , just a calm walk back. His bat was the celebration. That’s what sets him apart.#LSGvsDC
