Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 97 off 54 balls to help Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets and move to the top of the IPL 2025 table.
Jos Buttler delivered a batting masterclass with an unbeaten 97 off 54 balls as Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in a high-scoring match. Chasing 204, Gujarat lost Shubman Gill early to a run-out, but Buttler and Sai Sudharsan built a strong foundation with an aggressive Powerplay.
Sudharsan departed after a brisk knock, but Buttler kept the momentum alive. He found support from Sherfane Rutherford, who contributed crucial runs in the middle overs. With the Capitals’ bowlers struggling to find breakthroughs, Buttler dominated the attack, including four consecutive boundaries off Mitchell Starc. Rahul Tewatia sealed the game with a six and a four, finishing the chase in the final over.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted 200 after being put in to bat first. They started strong with over 70 runs in the Powerplay. However, regular strikes from Prasidh Krishna, who finished with 4 wickets, slowed their progress. Arshad Khan provided an early breakthrough, while Mohammed Siraj proved expensive.
Despite a flurry of 30s from the middle order, DC fell about 20 runs short of a competitive total. Their bowling unit failed to defend the score, managing just two wickets—one through a run-out and another by Kuldeep Yadav. Gujarat remained in control for most of the chase, with only a brief fightback from DC towards the end.
The win takes Gujarat Titans to the top of the table.

Ashutosh Sharma isn’t shying away from taking on the best—played a lap shot to Jasprit Bumrah, and today he’s going after Prasidh Krishna, who’s been the best bowler so far, with some outrageous shots.

If Axar’s presence in the middle forced GT to not give even a single over to Sai Kishore then other teams should take note of this when playing them next. https://t.co/mcWmaits5N
