Earlier, MI captain Hardik Pandya, returning after missing the first match, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Gujarat Titans posted 196/8 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians, powered by strong performances from their top order. Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a solid 63 off 41 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes before falling to Trent Boult in the 18th over. Shubman Gill provided early stability with a 27-ball 38. Jos Buttler also started well, scoring 39 off 24 before Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed him.
Mumbai Indians struggled with fielding lapses, including dropped catches and misfields, affecting their control over the game. Hardik was MI’s standout bowler, taking two wickets.
