Earlier, MI captain Hardik Pandya, returning after missing the first match, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Gujarat Titans posted 196/8 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians, powered by strong performances from their top order. Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a solid 63 off 41 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes before falling to Trent Boult in the 18th over. Shubman Gill provided early stability with a 27-ball 38. Jos Buttler also started well, scoring 39 off 24 before Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed him.
