KKR vs PBKS Washed Out: Rain Forces Points Split at Eden Gardens

The KKR vs PBKS match at Eden Gardens was called off due to rain, with both teams taking one point each.

Heavy rain and strong winds forced the KKR vs PBKS match at Eden Gardens to be abandoned, with both teams collecting one point each. Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz had added seven runs in the first over before heavy rain interrupted the game. Chasing a target of 202, Kolkata Knight Riders never resumed their innings as the weather failed to improve after a long delay.

With this result, Punjab Kings moved up to fourth, while KKR stayed in seventh place on the points table.

Earlier, Punjab Kings made a strong start after choosing to bat. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh posted a 120-run opening stand. Arya scored a quick 69 off 35 balls before falling to Andre Russell. Prabhsimran continued the assault, reaching 83 from 49 deliveries. Glenn Maxwell’s poor form persisted, managing only seven runs from eight balls.

Despite Kolkata’s bowlers tightening up in the final overs, Punjab crossed the 200-run mark, finishing at 201 for 4 in 20 overs. Russell ended with two key wickets, while KKR’s spinners struggled to contain the runs. Rain ultimately denied a full match, leaving both sides to settle for a shared result.
