Mayank Yadav recovered from injury and was expected to rejoin Lucknow Super Giants on April 15.
Tearaway fast bowler Mayank Yadav has recovered from his injuries and is all set to rejoin the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) squad in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 season. Sources have informed India Today that the speedster is likely to link up with the team on Tuesday, April 15.
Mayank, who was retained for a hefty sum of ₹11 crore despite featuring in only four games last season, has received medical clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. According to top sources, he is match-fit, but the final decision regarding his inclusion will be taken by the LSG coaching staff, who will closely monitor his condition over the next few days.
Mayank had been out of action due to a lumbar stress injury and was initially expected to return by the second week of April. However, his recovery was delayed after he sustained a toe injury — an unusual setback that head coach Justin Langer addressed earlier in the season.

Langer had said, “Mayank injured his toe by accidentally kicking his bed.” Mayank’s return will come as a major boost to the LSG camp, which has performed admirably so far despite a few injury concerns. The team had roped in senior pacer Shardul Thakur earlier in the season as a replacement for injured left-arm quick Mohsin Khan. Shardul has impressed in his limited outings for the franchise.
LSG currently sit fourth in the IPL 2025 points table, with four wins from six matches. They will next take on Chennai Super Kings on Monday, April 12 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
