Mumbai Indians registered their sixth straight win in IPL 2025 with a commanding 100-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Batting first, MI posted a massive 217 for 2, driven by a 116-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav added quick runs at the end to boost the total. Only Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag managed to take a wicket each, but overall, the bowling unit gave away too many runs.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals never got going and were bowled out for just 117. The chase unraveled early when Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, fresh from a century, fell for a duck. Yashasvi Jaiswal started brightly but failed to carry on, leaving RR in trouble. The rest of the batting unit failed to put together any resistance. None of the middle-order batters built a partnership, and wickets kept falling regularly.
For MI, Deepak Chahar struck early, taking a wicket in the first over. Trent Boult followed with two quick wickets, putting Rajasthan Royals on the back foot. Jasprit Bumrah’s introduction tilted the game in MI’s favor as he claimed two wickets in his first over, dismantling RR’s top order. Hardik Pandya contributed with one wicket, and Karn Sharma made an impact with three wickets. Boult wrapped things up, completing a clinical performance. Mumbai’s all-around performance has pushed them to the top of the points table.
