Rahul Dravid dismissed rumors of a rift with Sanju Samson, saying they work closely and make all team decisions together.
Rahul Dravid has rubbished recent rumours of a rift with Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson. The reports surfaced after RR’s narrow Super Over loss to Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match had ended in a tie before the visitors lost in the decider.
Speculation grew about a possible disagreement between Dravid and Samson following the result. However, the head coach addressed the matter at a media event after the game. He clarified that his relationship with the captain remains strong and collaborative.
“There are reports in the media that Captain Sanju Samson and the coach Rahul Dravid are not on the same page. Would you like to answer this?” questioned one of the attendees.

“I don’t know where these reports are coming from. We are actually on the same page. Sanju is a very integral part of all the decision-making and I have a really good rapport with him. He is very much an integral part of the team. He is involved in every discussion and decision that we make. Obviously, when you lose games and things don’t go right sometimes, you face the criticism, and you are happy to front up with the team,” Dravid replied.
“You are not performing well or not doing well, and that is something we can think about. Sometimes the results go your way, and sometimes they don’t. We have to learn from that, and we have to move on, and we have to keep looking ahead,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals next face Lucknow Super Giants in Match 36 on Saturday at Jaipur, aiming to bounce back strongly this season.
