Kuldeep Yadav slapped Rinku Singh after the IPL 2025 match, sparking strong reactions on social media.
Kuldeep Yadav found himself at the center of controversy after he was caught on camera slapping Rinku Singh following the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday. The video, which quickly went viral on social media, showed both players laughing and chatting alongside other cricketers. However, Kuldeep suddenly slapped Rinku twice — seemingly in a playful manner — which caught the KKR batter completely off guard.
Rinku appeared visibly shocked by the gesture and even seemed irritated before engaging in a brief conversation with his Indian teammate. As the video had no audio, the full context behind the exchange remained unclear. Despite that, fans online expressed their disapproval and anger over Kuldeep’s action, with some even calling for his suspension by the BCCI.
The incident overshadowed what was an important win for Kolkata Knight Riders, who defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs to keep their playoff hopes alive in IPL 2025.
Batting first, KKR posted 204 for 9, thanks to a solid batting effort. Angkrish Raghuvanshi led the charge with a 44-run knock off 32 balls. The Delhi bowlers shared the spoils, with Mitchell Starc picking up 3 for 43, while spinners Axar Patel (2/27) and Vipraj Nigam (2/41) also made important breakthroughs.

In response, Delhi Capitals could only manage 190 for 9. Despite strong contributions from Faf du Plessis (62), Axar Patel (43), and Vipraj Nigam (38), they fell short. KKR spinner Sunil Narine stood out with figures of 3 for 29.

Speaking after the match, Narine credited the entire team for the win. “It was a total team effort, we started in the middle overs with Anky (Angkrish) and Rinku with the bat. I still back myself to come back and deliver for the team. There are games when you start well and struggle and then there are games that you do not begin well and end well,” he said.
When asked about his preferred surfaces, Narine added, “It’s all wickets, it is not one wicket that I enjoy. Not the greatest fielder, but it is always good to get a good run-out whenever possible. (on running-out KL Rahul) Just swing and throw the ball as hard as possible.”
He concluded by stressing the importance of preparation and commitment. “Always want to be able to give the captain an option of going for you in a pressure situation. If you want to be that player, you have to do the hard work even when there’s no training.”
