Kieron Pollard said Mumbai Indians always believed Rohit Sharma would overcome his poor form and bounce back strongly in IPL 2025.
Mumbai Indians’ batting coach Kieron Pollard said the team always trusted Rohit Sharma to regain his form in IPL 2025. Rohit’s poor start had worried the side after multiple early losses. However, Mumbai’s faith has been rewarded with Rohit scoring two consecutive fifties in the last two games.
Pollard emphasized that experienced players like Rohit face tough phases but usually bounce back with support. He highlighted that the dressing room stayed positive about Rohit’s comeback even when runs were scarce.
“For us (MI), we always had that belief that he’s (Rohit) going to come good. I just want to continue to urge you guys, at times, sometimes it gives guys opportunity,” Pollard told the media ahead of MI’s match against Lucknow Super Giants.
“There’s dips, there’s low confidence. But for someone who has played this sport for a long time, you have these moments, and sometimes you just need that extra support from people,” he continued.

“Now, we’re singing his praises; we’re all very happy. In the Mumbai dressing room, we were happy at the start as well, knowing that it was going to happen and long may it continue so the headlines are going to be about that,” the coach added.
Mumbai will now hope Rohit’s form continues in the crucial final stretch. After defeating Chennai Super Kings, the franchise is pushing for a playoff spot. Their next match is against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, 27th April.
