Rohit Sharma gave fans a funny moment at nets as Mumbai Indians prepared for their crucial IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Mumbai Indians have turned their season around in style, winning four matches in a row after a poor start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The five-time champions, who lost four of their first five games, now sit comfortably with 10 points from nine matches. They are set to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a key fixture on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium. LSG had beaten MI by 12 runs in their previous meeting this season.
As MI geared up for this important clash, Rohit Sharma provided a light-hearted moment during the team’s net session. The star opener was seen chatting with LSG mentor Zaheer Khan when pacer Shardul Thakur walked in late. Rohit greeted him with a humorous jibe.

Mumbai come into this fixture after a dominant win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Chasing a modest 143 for 8, MI cruised to victory in 15.4 overs, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 70 off 46 balls. His powerful knock shut the door on any hopes of an SRH comeback.

Earlier, pacers Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult set the tone with the new ball. Chahar picked 2 for 12 while Boult starred with 4 for 26, reducing SRH to 13 for 4 by the fifth over. Though Heinrich Klaasen (71 off 44) and Abhinav Manohar (43 off 37) added 99 runs to steady the innings, SRH still fell short of a competitive total.
Rohit’s recent form has been a big boost for MI. Apart from his match-winning knock against SRH, he had earlier scored an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls against Chennai Super Kings. With momentum on their side and their captain in top form, Mumbai Indians will look to extend their winning run and climb further up the IPL 2025 points table.
