Trent Boult Predicts 300+ Total Will Be Scored in IPL 2025

Trent Boult believes that a team will score over 300 runs in IPL 2025, as batters are attacking more and the ball is traveling further.

Mumbai Indians pacer Trent Boult believes a 300-plus team total is possible in IPL 2025. The left-arm bowler shared that while batters have dominated, some conditions in India still offer swing. Earlier in the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 286 against Rajasthan Royals, the second-highest total in IPL history. However, no team has crossed 280 since then.

“No doubt, a 300+ score will be reached this tournament. The ball seems to be travelling further, though I’d like to believe it’s still swinging in some parts of the country,” Boult said.

However, Boult also feels that the ball is travelling farther this year, but bowlers can still find opportunities if they stay accurate and aggressive. He remains hopeful that bowlers can fight back despite the growing advantage for batters in the tournament.

“From a bowling perspective, the only positive is that batsmen are coming hard, which creates opportunities. If we focus on being accurate, stay aggressive, and give it a real crack, bowlers will have their day at some point. That’s what fans want to see, and I’m sure there’ll be plenty watching,” he added.

Trent Boult on Challenges of Bowling at the Death

Trent Boult further highlighted the growing challenges of death bowling in modern T20 cricket. He stated that bowling at the death demands constant improvement, as complacency can quickly lead to failure.

“It’s a challenge and an area I’ve always worked on. My mantra has been to keep getting better and never plateau with my skills or performance. I’m constantly pushing myself to come up with new options and plans. These days, there are so many batters—some we’ve never even heard of or played against—so you’ve got to be on your game. Clarity is key, and executing under pressure makes the difference. It’s all about training well and being ready for those moments,” Boult concluded.

Mumbai Indians will next face Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium on April 27.
